Spectrum assures me that their modem is good for speeds up to 300mbps. Plus 4 mobile devices that are virtually always connected. There are 2 TVs connected to cable that also have Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc via a WiFi connection. Our older brick home is large (+/- 4000 SF, plus the patio in the better weather). However, with these new-ish mesh network systems, I wonder if that would be a better route. I was going to get a new router, and pair it with an extender. I have had a Netgear N300 for quite a number of years, and I suspect that it has become obsolete and should just be replaced. The mobile devices were noticeably faster, but not as much. The only time I can definitely see it is when I connect directly to the modem (a Technicolor TC4310, supplied by Spectrum) with my laptop while I’m working at home. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theoryĪ couple months ago, I opted for a new internet+cable option which gave us better speed, up to 100Mbps upload and 10 mbps download. u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
